Kathryn J. Wahlstrom

Kathryn Wahlstrom, 88, of Owensboro passed away September 28, 2013 at Hermitage Care & Rehabilitation in Owensboro. She was born November 4, 1924 in Breckenridge County to the late Eli and Stella Jackson. Kathryn trained in the cadet nurse program in the early 40's and worked at the Daviess County Hospital until she met her husband and moved away. Later moving back she returned to work at the hospital until her retirement. She enjoyed cooking and trying to grow various plants in her garden. Kathryn always thought of others before herself.

She also was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew G. Wahlstrom; sister, Zilpha Giltner; and brothers, Eli David, Carroll and Marvin Jackson.

Surviving are her sons, Alan C. of Little Rock AR. and John Wahlstrom of Owensboro; and a granddaughter, Carina Wahlstrom.

Services will be noon Wednesday, October 2, 2013 in the Chapel of Glenn Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro with Bro. George Darnell and Chaplain Linda Hadik presiding. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 pm Tuesday and after 10 am Wednesday at the funeral home.
