Kathryn R. Jones

Kathryn Dean Renfro Jones, 76, of 5001 King Road, Philpot, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at her home surrounded by all of her loving family. She was born in Rockwood, Tn. to the late William Roy & Willie Mae Keylon Renfro. She was retired from Owensboro-Daviess Co. Hospital as a registered nurse where she graduated from their School of Nursing in 1951. She was a member of Dawson Baptist Church and a former member of the Whitesville Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star #130 where she served two terms as the Worthy Matron. She was also a member of the American Nursing Association. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Jones, Sr. on April 9, 1993 and three brothers and a sister.

Surviving are her four children, William E. Jones, Jr. and wife Karla of Philpot, Bonnie Sumner Smith and husband Jim of Rockport, In., Betty Leonard and husband Steve of Philpot, and James Randy Jones and wife Rita of Philpot, 10 grandchildren, Nick & Ryan Jones, Ray & wife Lori Sumner, Jamey & wife Rhonda Sumner, Nathan & Caleb Smith, Dana & Brad Leonard, and Jennie & Jay Jones, four great grandchildren, Brittany, R. W., Jordan, and Blake, two sisters, Mrs. Delbert (Judy) Fireline of Dawson Springs and Mrs. Garland (Janie) Rickard of Anton, two sisters-in-law, Lucille Renfro & Mrs. Leon Renfro, both of Madisonville, and numerous nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews and cousins.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 11, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with entombment following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday and after 8:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
