Kathi Graves

Kathi Graves, 71, of Owensboro, passed away August 30, 2025. She was born December 17, 1953, in Daviess County to the late William and Margie Ash House. Kathi spent many years managing Long John Silver’s, but those closest to her knew that her truest joys were found far from the restaurant. She was a gardener at heart, a woman whose happiest days were spent with dirt under her nails, sunshine on her back, and something green and growing in front of her.

Kathi found beauty in the simple things such as a bloom bursting open, a breeze whispering through tomato vines, or a fresh row of seeds she could nurture. Flowers would bloom and beauty would thrive in the care of her hands.

No puzzle was too difficult, no craft too detailed, and no fabric too stubborn for her skilled hands. She was a master seamstress, a lover of books, a whiz with needle and thread, and someone who could lose herself for hours in a good crossword, jigsaw, or brain teaser.

She carried herself with quiet grace and a wit that was as sharp as it was kind. Her laughter was contagious, and she could light up a room and linger in your heart long after the moment had passed. She had a way of saying just the right thing at just the right time and never spoke an ill word of anyone.

Kathi gave her heart freely and loved without hesitation. Her greatest joy came not from accomplishments or accolades, but from the life she built with her husband, the children they raised together, and the generations that followed. In the quiet moments of the day, a sunset, a breeze through the trees, the laughter of little ones, you could see the peace she found in the love of her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy, each one carrying a piece of her heart forward.

Kathi was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Edwin “Snookie” Nash and sister, Mary Alys Bratcher.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Rick Graves; children, Angela Rae Robinson, Cheryl Ann Faith, and Adam Wesley Graves; grandchildren, Ren Linder (Johnny), Xander Jette, and Wyatt Jette; great-grandchildren, Ridley Linder and Ariah Linder; sisters, Gayle LaNell McElwain, Sheila House and brother, Tony House; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will be 5:00 pm. – 7:00 p.m. Friday and after 10:00 a.m. Saturday. A private burial will take place at Elmwood Cemetery.
