Katherine M. Whittaker

Mrs. Katherine M. Whittaker, 93, of Leisure Years Nursing Home, Owensboro, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002 at Leisure Years Nursing Home. Born in Daviess Co., Ky. on February 4, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Elizabeth Williams Knight. Her husband, Remous Owen Whittaker, preceded her in death in 1976.

Mrs. Whittaker was a member of Hall St. Baptist Church. She enjoyed going on Senior Citizens trips, all types of needlework, and flower gardening.

Survivors include three sons, Lewis Earl Whittaker of Bangor, Maine, Stewart Lee Whittaker of Jeffersonville, In., & Kenneth Ray Whittaker of Utica, Ky., Four daughters, Anna Jeane Matthews of Louisville, Ky., Joann Carey of Battlecreek, Mich., Mary Janice Luck of Owensboro, & Kay Hardin of Philpot, Ky., 24 Grandchildren, and several great and great great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services are at 10:00 A.M. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Joe Kitchens. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 19, 2002 from 3:00-7:00 P.M. and Friday after 8:30 A.M. at the funeral home.
