Katherine Hale Obrien

March 17, 1907 — August 15, 2005

Katherine Hale OBrien, 98, formerly of 1626 W. 3rd. St. and One Park Place, passed away Monday, August 15, 2005 at the Hermitage Care & Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late Ernest Edgar and Mattie Ione Williams Hale. She was retired from Glenmore Distillery as a Forelady after 35 years. She was a charter member of St. John United Methodist Church and the Cora Cline Sunday School Class, and was a Ky. Colonel. She was a member of the Elizabeth Munday Senior Center where she enjoyed their many activities and also enjoyed the many activities they had at One Park Place when she resided there. She was preceded in death by her husband, Parker OBrien in 1988, two daughters, Peggy OBrien Temple in 1984 and Patsy OBrien as an infant, a brother, Fred Harrison Hale, a half-brother, Ernest B. Hale, and a sister, Grace Hale Brown.

Surviving is a half-brother, Joe K. Hale of ElCajon, Ca., three nieces, Ione Bressler of Columbus, Oh., Wanda Chandler of Owensboro, and Betty Lovenduski of Somerdale, N.J., and a nephew, Jimmy Hale of Philpot, her son-in-law, Richard Temple, and a special friend, Ruth Seidel, both of Owensboro, and numerous great and great great nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 18, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00-6:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 9:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John United Methodist Church, 2160 Griffith Ave., Owensboro, Ky. 42301.
