Katherine Shively Hayden

Katherine Shively Kate Hayden, 7 of Maceo, died Saturday, July 29 from injuries suffered in an automobile accident in Chattanooga, TN. Born in Jefferson County on September 3, 1998, Kate was a student at the Owensboro Catholic Elementary K-3 campus where she would have been in the 2nd grade. She loved her cats, playing the fiddle, and never met a stranger. Kate had a special gift to always find the right thing to say and wanted to grow up to be a mommy and a teacher.

She is survived by her mother and step-father, Sheila and Glenn Calhoun of Maceo; her father and step-mother, Walter and Lisa Hayden of Louisville; siblings, Adam Hayden, Ashley Calhoun, Wesley Calhoun, Connor Calhoun, and Maria Hayden; grandparents, Dan and Sue Howard of Philpot, Dennis and Mildred Hayden of Owensboro, and Marjorie Calhoun of Curdsville; aunts and uncles, Debbie and Marty Mills, Danny and Anne Howard, Jeff and Theresa Howard, Greg and Lisa Howard, Cyndi and Barry Isbill, Karen and Mark McCarty, David and Monica Calhoun, Dennis and Cheri Calhoun, Mark and Joy Hobson, Phil and Candy Calhoun, Phil and Beth Fogle, Denise Duane Hodges, Stephen Hayden, Michelle Hayden, and Theresa Hayden; many cousins and countless friends.

Services are 3 P.M. Thursday, August 10, 2006 at St. Stephen Cathedral with Rev. John Vaughan officiating and burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 A.M. to 8 P.M. at Glenn Funeral Home on Wednesday and from 9 A.M. to 2 P.M. on Thursday. There will be a memory sharing time from 5 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home followed by prayers at 7:30 P.M.
