Karon Young

Karon Young, 67, of Owensboro, went to be with the Lord October 18, 2015 at Hillcrest Nursing Home. She was born December 19, 1947 in Mayfield, KY, to the late Earl and Ruby Winsett. Karon was a member of Nickel Ridge Pentecostal Church where she had spent past years teaching Sunday School. She enjoyed singing, shopping, and playing bingo. Most importantly, she was a great mother, grandmother, a devoted pastor's wife, and loved God.

Karon was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Kermit Young; daughter, Cynthia Renee Payne; sister, Sharon Kessinger; brother, Earl Winsett Jr., and grandson Joshua Walker.

She is survived by her four daughters, Kathy Miller (Ben), Melissa Willis, Sherry Martin (Patrick), and Jennifer Croom (Tony); son, Tim Young; thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be 12 noon, Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. David Jones officiating. A private burial will follow. Visitation will be 2-8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
