Karla Kulka Cox

Karla Kulka Cox, 69, of Owensboro passed away Friday, May 17, 2019 at her residence with her family by her side. Born in Daviess County on November 9, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Berry Kulka. Karla graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School (class of '67) and became a registered nurse at ODCH. She was a very thoughtful and loving person who was always willing to help others. Karla enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing games, working puzzles, and going out to eat. Her greatest joy came from being with her family and their special gatherings where her delicious desserts were savored by all.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Paul Cox in 1988; son, Robert "Robbie" Cox, Jr. in 1971; brothers, Stephen M. Kulka and Joseph A. Kulka; sister Susan H. Hager.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Joseph E. Cox and wife Jaime of Hawesville, Stephen E. Cox and wife Linda, and Brian Cox and wife Michele of Owensboro; eleven grandchildren, J.P., Kirsten (Justin), Stevie, Brittany (Olivia), Skylar, Lilly May, Breanna, Jadyne, Brendan, Kamy, and Coleton; brothers, Richard Kulka, John (Betsy) Kulka, and Ned (Sharon) Kulka; sister-in-law (but more like a sister), Sharon Kulka; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Karla Cox will be 5:00 pm Monday, May 20 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will be from 2:00 pm until time of service.
