Karen Kay Cox Norris, 64, of McDaniels, formerly of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born February 9, 1953 in Daviess Co., KYand was retired from Owensboro Municipal Utilities as a Water Quality Specialist. Kay was of the Catholic faith and was an avid U. K. basketball fan. She enjoyed vegetable gardening, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and all the great times with them on Rough River. She was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Joseph Cox, Jr.
Surviving are her husband of 35 years, James Earl Norris, her daughter, Cassie Leigh Norris and fiancé Jay Ratliff of Lexington, her parents, Margaret Ann "Skipper" Gaw and Anthony Joseph Cox of Owensboro, two grandchildren, Zachary James and Charles Ramsey Norris, two great grandchildren, stepsons, Anthony Brent Norris and wife Sue Ann of Bowling Green, Gregory Wayne Norris and John Lincoln Norris, both of Richmond, two sisters, Lemoine Allison Cox Amos and husband Keith of Maitland, Florida and Vicki Ann Cox of Owensboro, a nephew, Mark Lewis of Owensboro, and a brother, James Craig Cox of Owensboro.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 17, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 P.M. Friday with prayers at 7:30 P.M. and from 8:30-10:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
