Karen McIntyre "Tootsie", 59, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, December 27, 2008 at her daughter's home. Born in Spencer County, Indiana on September 30, 1949, Mrs. McIntyre was the daughter of the late William and Ida Best Cameron; had worked at Swedish Match for more than 34 years; and attended Good Shepherd Church. Her passion was her grandchildren and whatever activities they were involved insoccer, school, or spending time together. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McIntyre was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Cameron.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Kevin Baker; grandchildren, Morgan, Cameron and Kolbie Baker; a brother, John Cameron of Rockport; and sisters, Betty Lampton of Evansville, Darlene (and Lanny) Wead of Grandview, and Patricia Lott and Sue Fitz of Rockport. Mrs. McIntyre was a special blessing to all her family and friends.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Glenn Funeral Home with Rev. John Morse officiating followed by burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday and after 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Houston Ground Angels (a volunteer group who provide assistance to patients at M.D. Anderson Hospital), P.O. Box 683127, Houston, TX 77268.
The family would like to especially thank Mrs. McIntyre's extended family at Swedish Match for all their support during her illness.
