Karen Lee King

August 24, 1948 — June 18, 2014

Karen Lee King, 65, of Owensboro, passed away, June 18, 2014 at the Heartford House. Karen was born on August 24, 1948 to the late Clarence (Mule) and Ella Hazelwood. She was a graduate of Owensboro High School. Karen spent three years at Pinkterton Tobacco, until she chose to become a Beautician. After doing so for 25 years, she retired. Karen enjoyed many things. She loved Gospel on The River, which her and her husband rarely missed. Karen enjoyed fishing, watching her grandkids play sports, her times at Lake Barkley, was a fine cook, and enjoyed life in general. The thing that Karen loved most was spending time with her husband and family.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Brian Keith Sapp.

Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Robert Allen King; sons, Chris (Megan) King and Tim (Amy) Lopez; sister Toni Lynn Curtis and grandchildren, Trevor, Paul, Julia, Anna, Dylan, Hunter, Bo, Evan, and Eli.

Services will be at 2:00pm Saturday, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be 2:00-8:00pm Friday, and Saturday from 10:00 until the time of service at the funeral home.

Special thank you to her dear friends for their loving support throughout her life. Also, a special thanks to the staff at the Heartford House and Dr. M. and his staff.
