Karen Gilmore, 49, of Shelbyville, passed away September 20, 2016. Born in Owensboro, June 16, 1967 to Wm. Michael and Shirley Gilmore, Karen was a Nurse and Patient Care Analyst at Kosair's Children's Hospital. She enjoyed going to the beach, coffee and conversation, as well as camping and spending time with her granddaughter and family. Karen never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew her.
Karen is survived by her parents; daughter, Megan Rodriguez (Lupe) of Shelbyville; sisters, Jennifer Hayes (Don) of Lexington, Susan Corder (Tim) of Owensboro; granddaughter, Zoe Rodriguez of Shelbyville; nephews, Will Carrico and Gavin Hayes; niece, Lauren Hayes, all of Lexington; niece, Maddie Paige Corder; aunt, Dorothy O'Flynn (Bill); uncle, Joe Schaber (Julie) all of Owensboro, and a host of cousins.
Services will be Noon Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will take place at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday and after 10:00a.m. Saturday.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer's Research Center in memory of her grandmother, Laura Bell Gilmore.
