Judy Ann Stewart Stuchell

Judy Ann Stewart Stuchell, 79, of Owensboro, KY, passed away in the care of the Heartford House Inpatient Hospice on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Judy was born on September 13, 1947, to the late Paul and Ella Stewart in Riverton, Wyoming. After graduating from Morrill High School in 1965, she married and started her family in Naples, Italy, where both of her sons were born. She moved from Italy to San Diego, California, before finally settling in Stafford, Virginia, where her sons spent most of their childhood. During this time, she built a successful career at United Van Lines. Later, she moved to Colorado, where she met David, her life-companion and long-term caregiver of 28 years. They held a ceremony for their love a year and a day after their first date. David, as well as her grandson Chris and stepson Roy, lived together with Judy in her final years in Owensboro, Kentucky. Judy loved cooking, baking, and gardening, as well as spending time with her beloved pets over the years. Most recently, her Pomeranian, Cami, stayed by her side all the time.

Judy is survived by her life-companion, David Shelanskey; her sons, Paul and Rickey (Karen) Stuchell; her step-children Roy Shelanskey, Brenda (Julian) Duran, and Leaha (Jason) Deardorff; her brother Don (Marcia) Stewart; her sister Mary (Larry) Creviston; her brother- and sister-in-law Rick and Jude Stuchell; her sisters-in-law Judi Souza and Peggy (Rick) Gallinger; her grandchildren Karrie, Izabelle, Christopher, Haley, Cassandra, Tabitha, Gregory, Esperanza, Tommy, and Nate; and numerous extended family members and many friends.

A special note of thanks to Nurse Hayley, of the Pulmonary floor at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital; the care she provided to Judy was highly appreciated by both Judy and her family. Gratitude as well to the entire team at Owensboro Health, and to the fine staff of the Heartford House.

A private celebration will be held by the family at a later time. Her wishes are to be cremated and spread over a body of water.

Care by Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
