Judy F. Peak, 77, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. The Daviess County native was born August 8, 1948, as one of six children to the late Herman Joseph Durbin and Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Montgomery Durbin. Judy graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School with the class of 1966 in May and married her high school sweetheart in September. After he returned from the Vietnam War, stationed in Korea, they had four daughters together. Judy was employed as the Environmental Services Director concluding her career at Hillcrest Nursing and Rehab. She loved going to garage sales and would often only purchase things for other people. Judy was selfless and always looking for ways to make others happy. She was talented at all types of crafts and baking and known for her banana bread, meat loaf, cookies, and turkey dressing. As a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Amvets (Post 119) she served as their chaplain. Some of the ways she expressed her generous and giving spirit was feeding the homeless at Crossroads and donating to food pantries through Blessing Boxes. Her greatest joy came from being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and watching them play sports, in band, and other activities. Judy was a devoted member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church helping with funeral meals and serving others.
In addition to her father, Judy was also preceded in death by two infant twin children, William R. Peak Jr. and Rebecca Ann Peak; two brothers, Joseph Edward Durbin and James Rollin Durbin.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 59 years, William R. Peak; four daughters, Deanna Cole (Kevin) of Fordsville, Susan Lampkin (Roger) of Benton, Shari Newton (Aaron), and Kim Quinn (Scott) both of Owensboro; mother, Betty Durbin; ten grandchildren, Jordan and Jacob (Hannah) Feldpausch, Tyler Cole, Troy (Amanda) and Justin Lampkin, Nathan Newton (Lauren), Natalie Steffen (Jared), Noah Newton, Luke and Landen Quinn; seven great grandchildren, Greenleigh and Avery Feldpausch, Dean and Tate Lampkin, Kaden Newton, Elizabeth and Nolan Clary; siblings, David Durbin (Karen), Mary Dickenson, and Rick Durbin; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
