Judy Garvin

Judy Garvin, 62, of 5470 Highway 60 W., Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at her home. She was born on January 7, 1946 in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late Joseph Edward and Anna Fuerst Volk. She had worked for the past 10 years as a bookkeeper for Gideon Productions and had also been an assistant librarian at Apollo High School for 18 years. She was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church and enjoyed quilting and spending time with her grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Mary Elizabeth Hagan in 1986 and Helen Jean Rhinerson in 2000.

Surviving are her husband of 43 years, Ray Garvin, four sons, Todd Garvin and wife Tabby of Lexington, Jeff Garvin and wife Julie of Owensboro, Gary Garvin and wife Dawn of Independence, Ky., and Steve "Turk" Garvin and wife Kim of Menominee, Michigan, 12 grandchildren, Chelsey, Paige, Ben, Haley, Hannah, Hunter, Jane, Max, Cole, Abbey, Alex, and Andrew Garvin, three brothers, Joseph Edward Volk, Jr. and wife Wanda and James Robert Volk and wife Peggy, all of Owensboro, and Thomas Richard Volk and wife Mary Alice of Virginia, and four sisters, Anna Louise Castlen, Shirley Volk, and Margaret Volk, all of Owensboro, and Agnes Myers and husband Don of Pennsylvania.

Services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, September 15, at Blessed Mother Catholic Church with Father John Meredith officiating. The burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday and after 8:30 A.M. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be 7:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
