Judy G. Brown

Judy G. Brown, 82, of Owensboro, went to be with the Lord on February 6, 2025, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born in Owensboro on December 19, 1942, to the late Luther and Adelene Carr Porter. 

Judy began her professional journey at Sears before transitioning to the Daviess County Judicial Center, where she served in the small claims court until her retirement. Known for her keen eye for a bargain, Judy delighted in shopping for herself and the people she loved. Cooking for her family brought her immense joy, as did spending cherished moments with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ever ready with a quick wit, Judy’s warmth and humor were matched by her ability to offer guidance and keep things running smoothly. Her presence will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Sharon Kost and Larry Porter.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Nancy Finley, Rodney Brown, and Jeffrey Brown; grandchildren, Tabitha Finley (Rudy Murray), Samantha Finley, Matthew Finley, Jeffrey Brown, Johnathan Brown, Elizabeth Brown, Tiffany Brown, Katie Brown, and Heather Roberts; great-grandchildren, Holden Finley, Samara Stuart, Kaden Grace, Davion Board, Shania Board, Chyanne Murray, and Raymond Murray; and siblings, John Porter (Linda), Janice Porter, and Rebecca Braden. 

The funeral service for Judy Brown will be at 12:00 pm Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 9 am until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
