Judy Benson

Judy Benson, 74, of Owensboro, died Saturday, May 10, 2014, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Daviess County to the late William and Amanda Wilson Clark. Judy was a homemaker, attended St. John United Methodist Church and enjoyed baking and caring for others. She found her greatest joy spending time with her family, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the highlight of her life. She was also preceded in death by her husband Billy Benson and her son Byron Benson.

Survivors include her children, Jeff Benson (Hayley) and Marsha Chapman all of Owensboro; grandchildren, Jill Payne (Martin) and Ryan Chapman; great-grandchildren, Briley Chapman, Bowen Chapman, Thomas Payne, Maggie Payne and Samuel Payne; siblings, Lyndell Clark, Robert Clark, Sandy Conrad, Becky Johnson, Peggy Eans, and Shirley Oliver; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday and after 8:30 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Heart Association.
