Judith Gayle Poteat

August 27, 1949 — July 13, 2002

Judith Chumley Poteat, 52, of Owensboro, died Saturday, July 13, 2002 at the Owensboro Mercy Health Sytem. The Muhlenberg County native was the Economic Development Manager for Industry, Inc. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church; a volunteer for the Court Appointed Special Advocate Program; member of Delta Chi Sorority; and enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, gardening and music. She had also taught Sunday School at Buena Vista Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 28 years, James W. Poteat; a son, William Seth Poteat of Lexington; four brothers, Charles Chumley of Central City, Donnie Chumley of Carmel, IN, Fred Chunley of Omaha, NE, and Randall Chumley of Atlanta, GA; and two sisters, Charon Knight of Drakesboro and Anita Porter of Dunmor.

Funeral services are 12 noon, Tuesday, July 16, 2002 at the Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-8 P.M. on Monday and afte 10 A.M. on Tuesday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Court Appointed Special Advocate Program or the Education Fund for the Children of Carrie and Bobby Bartlett.
