Juanita Mae McMurtry

Juanita Morris McMurtry, 76, died Sunday, October 1 in Midlothian, VA. Juanita was a native of Owensboro/Daviess County and was the daughter of the late Griffin and Edna Mae Morris. She was a 1948 graduate of Daviess County High School and a long-term resident of Frankfort, KY and Germantown, TN.

Juanita was married to the late M. Allen McMurtry who was a 30 year employee of Southern Bell, South Central Bell, and AT&T; they retired to Germantown, TN in 1983. Juanita was an active member of Germantown Baptist Church before her move to Virginia in 2004. Survivors include two children, Kathryn McMurtry Snead of Fairfax, VA and David McMurtry of Midlothian, VA; five grandchildren: Ashley and Patrick Snead; Addie, Alexandra and Mitchell McMurtry.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 5, at Glenn Funeral Home. Visitation is from 3-8 p.m., Wednesday and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
