Joyce Warren

Joyce Warren, 88, of Owensboro, formerly of West Louisville, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born July 21, 1928 in Daviess Co. to the late John Felix and Sarah Camilla Beavin Warren. She was a homemaker and had worked for the United States Postal Service as Postmaster at the West Louisville Post Office. She was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church, but for most of her life, was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. She loved working for the church where she was on the Altar Society and the Bereavement Dinner Committee. Joyce was an excellent cook and enjoyed entertaining friends. She was a very community oriented and caring person and enjoyed playing bridge and bunco, was a Kentucky Colonel, and a very strong Democrat. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe Paul Warren on November 30, 2011, two sisters, Gladys Bell and Martine Dare, and three brothers, Maxwell, Houston, and David Warren.

Surviving are five sons, Paul Warren, Danny Warren and wife Francele, and Perry Warren and wife Sue, all of Owensboro, Pat Warren and wife Susan of Gilbertsville, and Scott Warren and wife Charla of Lebanon, IL, two daughters, Jean Adcock of Owensboro and Jill Steen and husband Buddy of Bowling Green, 20 grandchildren, Chris Warren, Shannon Hamilton, Leslie Evans, Kelly Warren, Amy Millay, Wendy Myers, Mark Warren, Jason Adcock, Justin Adcock, Ben Warren, Blake Warren, Samantha Boles, Savannah Warren, Zackary Warren, Jacqueline Blanchard, Michael Warren, Sarah Bessinger, Allison Baker, Matt Pour, and Alicia Pour, 17 great grandchildren, and a brother, LeRoy Warren of Louisville.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 19, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday with prayers at 7:00 P.M. at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and after 9:00 A.M. Thursday at St. Alphonsus.
