Joyce Faye Sweeney

Faye Sweeney, 66, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016, at her home. She was born January 24, 1950 in Daviess Co., to the late William Edward, Sr. and Lucy Mae Powers Colbert. Faye had worked at the Cigar Factory and had been a caregiver. She was a member of the former Crabtree Ave. Baptist Church. She was a Paula Deen fan and enjoyed collecting recipes and cooking. She loved her dogs, Sheena and Snookie, reading, and Christmas time when she enjoyed giving out presents to her nieces and nephews.

Faye was also preceded in death by her son, Ricky Lynn Sweeney in May of 2014, and her sister and brother-in-law, Billie Mae Easler in February of 2009 and Ray Easler in January of 2002.

Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Elmer Sweeney, a daughter, Lorie Bond of Evansville, two grandchildren, Daniel and Denise Bond, both of Evansville, her brother, William (Linda) Colbert, Jr. of Owensboro, three nephews, Mike (Carrie) Colbert, Billy (Tracey) Easler, and Bobby (Nicki) Easler, all of Owensboro, three nieces, Debbie Easler and Tara Smith (T. J.) of Owensboro, Bridget Taylor (Chris) of Phoenix AZ and several great nieces and nephews.

Services will be Noon Monday, February 15 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00-6:00 P.M. Sunday and after 10:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
