Joyce C. Motteler Pointer

Joyce C. Motteler Pointer, 72, of Owensboro passed away Friday, February 11, 2011 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born on September 15, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Otto and Orlina Haycraft Motteler; was of the Baptist faith; and was retired from Unilever where she worked for more than 20 years. Mrs. Pointer enjoyed bingo, bowling, and camping and fishing. But most of all, she enjoyed spoiling her grandbabies. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, J.P. Motteler and a sister, Katherine Raven.

Surviving is her husband of 40 years, Larry Ray Pointer; daughters, Kimberly McDaniel and her husband William and Jonlyn Blake and her husband Johnny both of Owensboro, and Benita Hagan of Fordsville; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Ronnie Motteler, Frank Motteler, and Jr. Motteler all of Indiana; sisters, Betty Abney of Illinois, Maizie Paquette of California, and Helen Jarboe of Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2011 in the Chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Entombment will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Monday and after 9 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
