Joyce Gail Martin

Joyce Gail Martin, 88, of Owensboro, passed away Monday, May 18, 2026, at home surrounded by her family. She was born February 5, 1938, to the late Ernest and Rowena Gaddis. Gail had a deep faith and was a founding member of Owensboro Christian Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother, an avid reader, and loved writing stories. Gail also loved traveling and visiting casinos.

She was also preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years, James Ray Martin; son, Kevin Martin; grandson, Tyler Beck, and siblings, Faye Gansky, Teddy Gaddis, JoAnn Byrd, Robert Gaddis, Jeannie Johnson, and Scotty Kay.

Gail is survived by her children, Laura (Steve) Marks, Timothy Martin; daughter-in-law, Regina Martin; grandchildren, Jason Marks, Lindsey (Kaiphen) Dirinamai, Garrett Martin, Justin Martin, Preston White, Joel Martin, William Martin, Joshua Martin, Hannah Martin, and Heather Martin; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda (Lou) Drawdy and Sandy (James) Travis; brother, Phillip (Nancy) Gaddis, along with numerous loved relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.
