Joyce Marie Christian

Joyce Marie Christian, 91, of Owensboro passed away Monday, November 12, 2018 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Mrs. Christian was born January 4, 1927 in Milwaukee, WI to the late Frank John Hajek and Stephanie Stranz Hajek. Joyce had previously owned an antique shop and was the owner of Morning Star gift shop. She loved to paint and was a very avid reader. Joyce was a member of the Art Guild, worked for Hospice, Red Cross and performed with Community Theatre. She really enjoyed dancing even up until just a few months ago.

Joyce also held a very special place in her heart for her family at Trinity Episcopal Church, loving everyone there just like she loved her own family.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Christian; a daughter, Carla Bingham; two sons, James and Daniel Dicristo; a son-in-law, Robert (Bob) Johannik; and a sister, Donna Wiersema.

Joyce is survived by two daughters, Julie Brown and her husband, Mike, and Vicki Johannik; two sons, Dennis Dicristo and David Dicristo and his wife, Rose; two daughters-in-law, Sharon Dicristo and Loretta Dicristo; three step children, Peter, Michael and Kathy; 11 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and a sister, Toni Jordan.

The memorial service for Mrs. Joyce Marie Christian will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Episcopal Church 720 Ford Avenue in Owensboro, KY with the Rev. Dr. David Carletta officiating.
