Joy Hazelrigg Potts, 81, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, February 9, 2008 at the Harborside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Owensboro on January 31, 1927 to the late H. Eben and Anita Gropp Hazelrigg, Mrs. Potts was a graduate of the Julliard Conservatory in New York City; an accomplished concert pianist; a member of First Baptist Church; and, in her later years, a piano teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Potts in 2004.
Surviving is a daughter Emily Morris of Great Britian; and cousins, O.D. Hazelrigg, and Martha Hazelrigg Bowlds of Owensboro and Marvin Gropp of Williamsburg, VA.
There will be a joint memorial service for Mr. and Mrs. Potts 3 P.M. Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Glenn Funeral Home.
