Josephine Mary McCrystal Coomes, 67, 2724 East 10th Street, Owensboro, died Monday, October 2, 2006, at her home. She was born July 16, 1939 to the late Estelle and Mary Inez Ward Howard in Daviess County. She had worked in health care several years until recently. She enjoyed working with flowers, gardening, puzzles and was a member of Eagles Club #2414.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Edward McCrystal on January 8, 1985, her daughter, Selena McCrystal on March 22, 1973, two brothers, Ray Howard and Sterling Howard.

Survivors include her husband of 11 years, Joseph Donnie Coomes; her sons, Tommy McCrystal of Owensboro, Jeff McCrystal and wife, Mary of Hartford, Mark McCrystal, Sr., and wife, Jeanie of Owensboro; a daughter, Karen McCrystal Foreman of Owensboro; a step-son, Shelby Coomes and fiancBennie of Owensboro, step-daughter, Starla Coomes Lanham and husband, Scotty of Owensboro; grandchildren, Candice Bidwell, Catrina Gary, Camron Foreman, Amber Kirk, Ashley Dunn, Jeff and Jeremy McCrystal, Michael and Vincent Renfrow, Mark McCrystal, Jr., Colton Crisp and Tyler Leslie; five great-grandchildren; four brothers, Bill Howard and wife, Irma of Whitesville, Lambert Howard and wife, Mary Lee, Joe Howard and wife, Phyllis, all of Owensboro, Mike Howard and wife, Judy of Dixon, TN; her sister, Thomasine Boarman and husband, Donnie of Owensboro; two sisters-in-law, Katie Howard of Whitesville, and Ettalene Howard of Florida.

Services will be 11:30 AM Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday and after 10:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
