Joseph Glenn Wooldridge, 61 of 102 West 21st Street, Owensboro, died Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was retired after 22 years from the U.S. Navy, served two tours and was a decorated medic in Vietnam. He was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church. He loved his family, his Pomeranians, and helping people, made bird houses as a hobby and gardened.
His father, Joseph Estil Wooldridge preceded him in death on October 17. 1985.
Surviving are his mother: Bea Wooldridge of Owensboro; sisters, Lynn O'Bryan of Smithfield, Virginia, Nancy Hall of Owensboro, Sr. Dymphna Wooldridge of Evansville, Indiana; brother; Bill (Sandra) Wooldridge of Yorktown, Virginia; sister, Darlene (John) Kazlauskas of Owensboro; brother, Stephen Wooldridge of San Ramon, California; sister, Sharon Smithson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and a brother Larry Wooldridge of Yorktown, Virginia; 12 nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January28, 2008 at Blessed Mother Catholic Church with Fr. Freddie Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery in Brown's Valley. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. with prayers at 5:30 p.m., and also after 9 a.m. Monday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Blessed Mother Youth Group.
