Joseph Steven Thompson

Steve Thompson, 60, of Owensboro passed away on Wednesday, November 13 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Owensboro to the late Elmo N. and Theresa V. Thompson.

Steve began working for Lanham Brothers Construction 43 years ago at the age of 17. He was a member of Immaculate Catholic Church. Steve was a music lover who enjoyed gardening, U.K. Basketball, cooking (especially barbecue) and taking care of his family. He will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Brenda Thompson; daughters, Stephani Thompson (Jason Cowherd) of Owensboro, Laci Millay(Craig) of Stanley and Lauren Fogle (Brandon) of Owensboro; grandchildren, Annalei Millay, Jaci Cowherd and one expected in May; brothers and sisters, Elmo Thompson, Jr. (Dora) of Owensboro, Mary Lou Henry of Owensboro, Betty Bartley (Gerald) of Sorgho, Jim Thompson (Margaret) of Atlanta, Pat Kirk of Owensboro, Judy Hagan of Owensboro, Ronnie Thompson (Sharon) of Owensboro, Connie Clark (Don) of Philpot; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral mass will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, November 16 at Immaculate Catholic Church. Fr. Tony Jones will officiate. Burial will be at St. Mary Magdalene Church Cemetery in Sorgho. Visitation will be on Friday from 3-8 PM (with prayers at 5:30) and after 9 AM on Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
