Joseph Alfred Thomas, 90 of Owensboro Place, died there Sunday, August 23, 2009. He was a native of Daviess County, born to the late Joseph A. and Cecilia Mae (Stallings) Thomas. He was a retired farmer and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and canning the food he raised.

His wife, Juanita Cheshire Thomas preceded him in death in 1996.

Survivors include; daughters Mary Rose Bolds and Martha Jean Woods, both of Louisville, and Sons; Ray Thomas of Island, Ky., Ralph Thomas of Louisville, Joe Thomas of Wisconsin, and Glenn Thomas of Henderson Ky., a sister; Clarcy Mattingly of Owensboro, and brother; Sam Thomas of Louisville, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Glenn Funeral Home with Fr. Brad Whistle officiating. Burial will follow in Cash Creek Cemetery in Henderson County. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. and after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
