Mr. Joseph B. Striker, 72, of Owensboro, passed away December 28, 2015 in Owensboro. He was born January 4, 1943 to the late Joseph S. and Jennie (Theodori) Striker.
Mr. Striker worked at the U.S. Postal Service for 25 years as a mail processing clerk, retiring in April 2008. Prior to that, he was a U.S. Army Tank PLT Sergeant, retiring after twenty years of service. Mr. Striker was a member of St. Pius the Tenth Catholic Church, American Legion Post #9 and the VFW. He loved spending time with his family (especially his grandchildren), gardening, fishing, movies, watching Pittsburg Steelers, and playing with his dog "Benji".
Mr. Striker was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Lou and Stan Striker.
He is survived by his sons, James Striker and his wife, Heather of Chattanooga, Tennessee, George Striker and his wife, Valerie of Cleveland, Tennessee, William Embrey and his wife, Kara of Owensboro; a daughter, Laura Gillihan and her husband, Chris of Owensboro; 10 grandchildren; a sister, Nancy Miller and her husband, Dennis of Cleveland, Tennessee; brother, Barry Striker and his wife, Helen of Ft. Pierce, Florida; and his pet, Benji.
The service will be at 2:00PM Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
