Joseph H. Roberts

Joseph (Joe) Hugh Roberts, 69, of Philpot went home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, January 19, 2010. He was born in Thruston, Kentucky to the late Joseph Wesley and Rosa Kathleen Estes Roberts. He was a member of Walnut Memorial Baptist Church where he attended Living Waters bible study class, and was a Deacon. Joe retired in 2001 from Field Packing Company after 35 years as purchasing director. Since his retirement he enjoyed operating his automobile clean up and detailing business, being outdoors, mowing grass, and taking care of their horses. He enjoyed, car racing, UK basketball, spending time with his grandchildren, and watching them play sports. He was also preceded in death by his brother, William Darrell Roberts of Greenwood, IN.

Survivors include the love of his life and wife of 49 years, Betty Sue Foster Roberts; his children, Jennifer Pirruccello and her husband Mark of Hebron, Kentucky, Wes Roberts and his wife Karen of Owensboro, Brent Roberts and his wife Tina of Owensboro, and Amy Ralph and her husband Paul of Louisville; grandchildren, Andrew Pirruccello, Jacob Roberts, Blake Roberts, Gabriel Pirruccello, Alex Ralph, Zachary Roberts, Jessica Ralph, twins, Emmy and Lilly Ralph, Marco Pirruccello, Bailey Roberts, AnaKaye Roberts and Frankie Joe Roberts; and two brothers, Filmore Roberts and his wife Donna and Deanie Roberts.

The celebration of Joe's life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Walnut Memorial Baptist Church and will be officiated by Rev. Wes Roberts and Rev. Jeff Hendricks. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and after 9 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
