Joseph Patrick Richard

Joseph Patrick Richard, 50, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born May 10, 1966 in Daviess Co., to the late William and Jo Ann Young Richard. Patrick had worked in the family business, Owensboro Brick until it was sold and was currently with Lee Brick and Block as a salesman for the past six years and loved working with all his co-workers. He had attended the University of Mississippi. Patrick enjoyed golfing, watching many different sports, and hockey in which he played professionally for the Memphis Eagles until 1986. He also loved Nascar and had raced stock cars for a number of years at Kentucky Motor Speedway. He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Post #4168. Patrick loved hanging out with family and friends especially his boys, dancing, being silly, was always the main entertainment at gatherings, and was loved by everybody. His favorite saying was "I Love You So Much, It's Pitiful". He and his wife, Malea, loved to go camping together taking their dogs, Aspen and Boulder with them.

Surviving are his wife, Malea Richard, two sons, Joseph Taylor Richard and Mason Richard, both of Owensboro, a sister, Debbie Benedek of Dallas, TX, two brothers, Michael Richard and wife Donna and Nick Richard and wife Amy, all of Owensboro, two stepdaughters, Natalie Denton and husband Mike of Owensboro and Valerie Bobo and husband T.J. of Livermore, stepgrandchildren, Lexie Denton, Trevor Bobo, Blakely Greer, Makaylee Denton, and Ruby Bobo, and nieces and nephews, David Christian, Jon Richard, Tyler Richard, Jessica Lusk, Will Richard, Liza Richard, and Grant Benedek.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 20, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 12:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
