Joseph Allen Payne

Joseph Buster Payne, 70, of Owensboro passed away Friday, October 19, 2007 at his daughters home. Born in Knottsville on November 9, 1936, he was retired from W.R. Grace Maintenance Department (Boilermaker), was a member of St. William Catholic Church, and enjoyed watching movies. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Bernard JB Payne; brothers, Bernard Raphael Payne and Vincent Leo Payne; and sisters, Lois Ann Willoughby and Dorothy Marie Roberts.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Edna Johnson Payne of Knottsville; a daughter, Cindy (and Rick) Holton of Owensboro; sons, Bernard Allen (and Wendy) Payne of Clayton, NC, David Irvin (and Michelle) Payne, and Michael Wade Payne both of Owensboro and Eric Claude (and Shialine) Payne of Rockledge, FL; and eight grandchildren.

Graveside services are 11 A.M. Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at St. William Cemetery in Knottsville with Father Tony Stevenson officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home with prayers at 6 P.M. There will be no visitation on Tuesday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice or to St. William Catholic Church.
