Joseph Albert O''Bryan

July 2, 1931 — March 3, 2005

Joseph Bud OBryan, 73 of 1723 Hughes Avenue, Owensboro, died Thursday, March 3, 2005 at home, surrounded by family and friends, after a brave battle with cancer. He was born July 2, 1931 to the late Elmer and Annie Bowlds OBryan. He retired from W.R. Grace after 25 years and was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of St. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church, where he had served as a Eucharist Minister. He enjoyed being with his family, hunting, fishing and gardening. Bud loved and lived his Catholic faith daily. We will all certainly miss his hugs.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and sisters; Carmel Thompson, J.C. OBryan and Geraldine Thompson; two half-brothers and sisters; Elmo OBryan and Mattie Sue Wathen.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Pat; three children; Debbie Stiff and her husband, Perry of Owensboro, Kathy Stiff and her husband, Scott, of Whitesville, Joe OBryan and his wife, Tammi of Owensboro; seventeen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Vincent OBryan and his wife, Mildred of Whitesville, Jim OBryan of Owensboro; two sisters, Elizabeth Hamilton of Whitesville and Elsie OBryan of Owensboro.

Funeral services are 10:00 AM Monday, at SS. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church with entombment at Resurrection cemetery, where military honors will be given by VFW Post 696. Visitation will be 1:00 until 7:00 PM on Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home with prayers beginning at 5:00 PM. Visitation Monday will be after 8:30 AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph and Paul Capital Campaign, 609 East 4th Street, Owensboro, KY, 42303 or Hospice Association, 723 Harvard Drive, Owensboro,KY, 42301.
