Joseph Earl McDaniel

Joseph Earl "Joe Mac" McDaniel, Sr.,73, of Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in Owensboro to the late Joseph O. and Thelma (Roach) McDaniel.

Joseph spent most of his working years as a bricklayer and mason. Early on he worked for Joe Roberts and others in construction. He hired on at Commonwealth Aluminum as a bricklayer and retired in 2001 after 33 years of service.

Even though "Joe Mac" was not a veteran, he supported them and was often a guest at the VFW and American Legion. As a younger man he also enjoyed motorcycles and golf.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Thelma Stolicker; and a brother, Gene Gregson.

Joseph is survived by sons, James Raymond McDaniel of Georgetown, KY and Joseph Earl McDaniel, Jr. of Huntsville, AL; a daughter, Elisabeth Elaine "Libby" McDaniel of Owensboro; 2 grandsons, Aiden Dean McDaniel and Michael Joseph McDaniel; several nieces, nephews and close friends.

Friends may visit on Thursday from 3 -7 PM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. There will not be a formal service.
