Joseph Paul Mattingly, 47, of Maceo, passed away, Wednesday, January 24, 2007 after a valiant battle with cancer. The Daviess Co. native was born April 19, 1959. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, a Daviess Co. High School graduate, and a former employee of Bowling Transportation, Inc. Joe enjoyed horses, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his parents, William A. Bill and Dorothy J. Mattingly of Maceo, his brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Cathy Mattingly of Utica, Bernard Mattingly of Maceo, and John and Carla Mattingly of Owensboro; his sisters and brother-in-law, Mary and Danny Froehlich of Owensboro, Rose Mattingly Martin of Douglasville, Georgia, and Stacy Mattingly Gustafson of Andover, Minnesota; seven nieces, three nephews, two step-nieces, two step-nephews, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 27, 2007 at St. Pius X Catholic Church with Fr. Richard Meredith and Fr. Carl McCarthy officiating. Entombment will immediately follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, January 26, 2007 from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m., with prayers at 6:00, and again on Saturday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Glenn Funeral Home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the St. Pius X Building Fund, Hospice and Palliative Care of the Ohio Valley, Inc., or the American Cancer Society.
