Joseph Bernard Keller

June 4, 1931 — April 11, 2004

Joseph Bernard Keller Sr., 72, of 9035 Sacra Drive, Maceo, Kentucky, died Sunday, April 11, 2004, at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Owensboro, Kentucky on June 4, 1931, he was the son of the late August and Sophie Holander Keller.

Mr. Keller was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church; a graduate of St. Francis Academy; a member of the United States Marine Corps where he achieved the rank of Lance Corporal (E-3) and served in the Korean War; was an employee of Fleischmanns Distillery for 30 years until his retirement in 1983. After his retirement from Fleischmanns he worked as a security guard at North American Phillips and W.R. Grace. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, fishing, professional football, UK basketball, traveling flea markets and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Beverly Louise Keller of Maceo, Kentucky; three daughters, Debbie Leathem and her husband Robin, Pat Lively and her husband Gary, both of Maceo, and Janet Hagan and her husband Tom of Newburgh; two sons, Bobby Keller and Joe Keller, Jr. and his wife Tina, both of Owensboro; two brothers, Harry A. Keller and Everett Keller both of Owensboro; two sisters, Virginia R. Wimsatt and Clarice M. Smith, both of Owensboro.

The funeral service for Mr. Keller will be at 11:30 Wednesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Inurnment will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation is from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:00 Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be said at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
