Joseph Howard, 83, of 3814 Jefferson St., Owensboro, died Monday, February 17, 2003 at his residence. The Montgomery, AL native was retired from the Jackson Hospital in Montgomery where he was the Supervisor of Housekeeping for 30 years. A member of Zion Baptist Church, he enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Estella Jackson Howard; a son, Joseph Howard, Jr., of Miami, Florida; three daughters, Queen Esther Brinson of Pontiac, MI, Leola Brundidge of Montgomery, Al, and Joanne Mason of Hawesville, KY; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2003 at the Zion Baptist Church with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Hawesville. Friends may call at the Glenn Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2003 and after 9:00 a.m. Friday.
