Joseph W. Heady, 89, Yelvington, died Wednesday, March 12, 2003 at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY from burns suffered in a fire Tuesday, March 11. His wife, Katie Bell Heady died in 1993. The Maceo native was a retired farmer and well known breeder of draft horses. He was a member of Thruston United Methodist Church, Farm Bureau, the Kentucky Draft Horse Association and a Life Member of the Belgium Draft Horse Association. He enjoyed being with family and friends.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Joseph Heady, Larry Heady, and Richard L. Heady, all of Maceo, 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Services are at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home. Visitation is from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to The Yelvington Fire Department.
