Joseph David Fischer, 37, of Owensboro, died early Monday, February 15, 2010 after a struggle with cancer. Joey was a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Engineering and was employed by Daviess County Fiscal Court as a civil engineer. He was a devoted father and husband who was very involved with Cub Scout Pack 602 and Little League Baseball. He was preceded in death by his father, David Fischer, paternal grandparents, George and Lucille Fischer, and maternal grandfather, Frank Payne.
Survivors include his wife, Erica Fischer; children, Grant Fischer and Claire Fischer; mother, Rita Autry and her husband Darrin; a brother, Larry Fischer and his wife Holly; maternal grandmother, Madeline Payne; in-laws, Steve and Yvonne Reed; sister-in-law, Amber Davis and her husband Greg; nephews and niece, Logan, Isaac, and Nicholas Fischer, Owen Davis and Madeline Davis; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday and after 9 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
