Joseph Allen Eskridge, Jr., born February 10, 1943, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully after a life marked by dedication to family, community, faith, and service.
Joseph was born to Joseph Allen Eskridge, Sr. and Mildred Gertrude Eskridge, who preceded him in death. During his youth, his family settled in Evansville, Indiana, where he spent his formative years. Nearly sixty years ago, Joseph made Owensboro, Kentucky, his home, where he built a career, raised a family, and became a respected member of the community.
Joseph dedicated 37 years of service to Xerox, where he was known for his strong work ethic, professionalism, and commitment to excellence. Beyond his career, he was a passionate advocate for Owensboro Public Schools, a steadfast supporter of music and the arts, and a believer in the importance of community engagement and lifelong learning.
A man of deep faith, Joseph was a devoted member of Wesleyan Heights United Methodist Church. He was also a proud Freemason and cherished the values of fellowship, integrity, and service that guided his life. During his college years, he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, forming friendships and experiences that remained meaningful throughout his life.
Above all, Joseph was devoted to his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Eskridge; his son, Dr. Allen Eskridge and daughter-in-law, Dr. Randa Remer-Eskridge; his daughter, Gigi Hartlage and son-in-law, Bill Hartlage; and his treasured grandchildren, Chase Hartlage, Sarah Hartlage, Jae Eskridge, Rory Eskridge, and Mackenzie Eskridge. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, nephews, and extended family members who will miss his wisdom, kindness, and unwavering support.
