Joseph Clyde Curtis

October 29, 1920 — September 7, 2002

Joseph C. Curtis, Sr., 81, of Owensboro, died Saturday, September 7, 2002 at the Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Daviess County native was retired from Medley Distillery where he was a truck driver for 35 years. He was a member of the Kirk Memorial (now Woodlawn Memorial UMC) and the Stanley F&AM Lodge # 878. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorena Mae Howard Curtis in 1995.

Survivors include two son, Lonnie Curtis and Joseph Curtis, Jr., both of Knottsville; two daughters, Doris Helm of Owensboro and Mary Louise Curtis of Philpot; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gracie Williams of Owensboro.

Funeral services are 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, September 11, 2002 at the Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-8 P.M. on Monday, after 11 A.M. on Tuesday and after 9 A.M. on Wednesday.
