Joseph Louis Cecil

Joseph Louis Cecil, 89, of the Carmel Home, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born September 15, 1925 in Owensboro , son of the late Oliver and Loretta Murphy Cecil. He retired from Medley's Distilling Company and was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church. He enjoyed the "Guys" only fishing trips, camping on the river, Nascar, and spending time with family and friends. He also was preceded in death by his siblings, Clem and Dick Cecil, Toby Mathews, Teresa Ling, Margaret Oberst, Jean Keller, Polly Leibfreid, and Alicia Wright. Also a grandson, Jeffrey Scott Cecil in 2007 and a great grandson, Andrew Cooper Cecil in 2011.

Louis is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mary Elizabeth Fogle Cecil, his daughters, Suzzanne Fazio and husband Bob of Owensboro, Cindy O'Bryan and husband Tony of Newburgh, IN, sons, Mike Cecil and wife Sheila of Newburgh, IN, Randall Cecil of LaGrange, Steve Cecil and wife Donna of Owensboro, Tim Cecil and wife Janie of Philpot, Keith Cecil of Owensboro, and Kirk Cecil and wife Rita of Tell City, IN. Louis also was blessed with grandchildren, Sheri Taylor, Chad Fazio, Danyal Butcher, Toni Renae O'Bryan, Tricia Julian, Kevin Cecil, Julie Antey, Jonathan Cecil, Teresa Rudd, Misty Tindall, Natasha Nugent, Shane Cecil, Dakota Cecil, Tara Cecil, Jennifer Cecil, and Ryan Haycox, and 25 great grandchildren.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 20, at Precious Blood Catholic Church with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00-7:00 P.M. Sunday with prayers at 6:00 P.M. and from 9:00-10:30 A.M. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.

The family would like to express their appreciation to all of the staff at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital for their compassionate care throughout their Dad's illness.
