Joseph E. Bickwermert

August 24, 1924 — February 10, 2003

Joseph E. Bickwermert, 78, of 2220 Twenty Grand Ave., Owensboro, died Monday, February 10, 2003, at his home. He was born in Daviess Co., Ky., son of the late Joseph Bernard and Lucy Schaffer Bickwermert.

A retired truck driver, Mr. Bickwermert was a member of Immaculate Catholic Church. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local #215 and the Retirees Breakfast Club. He enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, and Atlanta Braves baseball. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Catherine Stull Bickwermert, 3 Sons, John A. and Martin L. Bickwermert, both of Owensboro, and Michael J. Bickwermert of Clarksville, IN., 2 Daughters, Ruth Ann Bender and Kathleen Bickwermert Halterman, both of Owensboro; 1 Brother, Eugene Bickwermert of Owensboro, 4 Sisters, Margaret Coomes, Frances Carrico, Marie James, & Betty Babbitt, all of Owensboro, and 10 Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Ann Bickwermert in 1952.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, Feb. 11, and after 9:00 A.M. Weds. Prayers will be at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. The funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, February 12, at the Immaculate Catholic Church with burial following in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery in Owensboro.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Hospice Association, 723 Harvard Drive, Owensboro, Ky. 42301. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
