Johnny Reid Sympson, 50, of Owensboro, died Saturday, August 4, 2007, in Indiana from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident. He was born January 9, 1957 to the late James W. and Martha Strouse Sympson in Union County. He graduated from Owensboro Senior High School in 1976 and attended Western Kentucky University and Kentucky Wesleyan College. He was co-owner/operator of Sympson Construction Company, worked as an independent contractor and most recently worked for Plant Technical Services.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna K. Sympson on October 1, 2004, and his mother-in-law, Martine Sandefur.
Survivors include his sister, Sherrie Wemes (Billy) of Owensboro; a brother, Jim Sympson of Hartford; his father-in-law, J. T. Sandefur, sister-in-law, Sandy Goodman (Ray) of Owensboro; his aunt, Virgie Davidson; his nephews, Greg Wemes, Jeff Goodman (Scarlett), and Brian Goodman; his nieces, Joy Wemes, Kelly Casteel, Brittney Sympson; three great-nephews, one great-niece, many cousins and many close friends who were always like his family.
Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:30 until 8:00 PM Friday and after 9:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
