Johnny Lee Ford, 71, of 124 W. 18th St. Owensboro passed away on Wednesday, October 14 at 2:38 AM at Heartford House. He was born May 9, 1944 in Canton, MI. Lonnie Ford, his mother, held out her loving hands to Johnny to lead him on a heavenly journey to join his father, Eugene, brothers, Walter and Calvin, sister, Sylvia, and brother-in-law Gunk Lewis.
He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and retired as a heavy equipment operator for Barmet Aluminum. Johnny also enjoyed hunting and fishing and was the founding father of "The Super Bowl Club".
Survivors include his companion, Betty Payton; his daughter Sheila Ford; his sons, Keith, Jermain, Jeromy, and Shawn; six brothers, Robert Ford (Dottie) of Marina Valley, CA; George Ford (Barbara) of St. Cloud, MN; David Ford (Sharon) of Farmington, MI; Eugene Ford, Jr. of Detroit, MI; Ricky Ford of Michigan City, IN; and Larry Ford of Ionia, MI; sisters, AnneBelle Tabbs (Ted) and Gloria Ford both of Detroit MI; loving sister/cousin, Yvonne Crowder; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm on Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation is from 4:00 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family of Johnny Ford.
