Johnny Ray Calloway, 72, of Owensboro, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at his home while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky.  He was born February 12, 1951 in Daviess County to the late William Henry and Ruby Irene Briley Calloway.  Johnny had worked as brick mason and enjoyed motorcycling, working on cars, fishing, and watching westerns.  He was a legend and touched many people’s hearts.  He always wanted to be there for his grandkids after his son Stevie died.

Johnny was also preceded in death by his son, Stevie Ray Calloway on June 26, 2010 and nine brothers and sisters.

Surviving are his companion and soulmate, Kathy Williams; grandchildren, Tanner and Dillion Calloway, Lillian and Robert Santiego, Kenya Sanders, and Myles Turner; a brother, Jesse (Donna) Calloway of Westerville, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 2:30 PM Monday, January 15, in Christ Chapel at Owensboro Memorial Gardens followed by burial there.  Visitation will be from Noon until 2 PM Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
