John Harold Ward

John Harold "Hun" Ward, 26, of Owensboro, a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew and friend, who enjoyed life to the fullest, was involved in a fatal traffic accident in Louisville on October 8, 2008. John was born in Owensboro, graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School in 2000 where he played football, attended Western Kentucky University and graduated from Brescia University with a degree in business in 2004. An outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, the time he spent on the Mills Farm, and golf, his enthusiasms also included watching University of Kentucky basketball which was his excuse for playing cards. John loved a lot, cared a lot, and forgave easily. John was operations manager for River City Industrial. His grandparents, John and Donnabelle Chrisman Pace, Edwina Cheshire Ward, Margaret "Baby" Hazel Mills and Harold Dean Jones, and his uncles, Preston Scott Ward and Joseph Paul Castlen, II preceded him in death.

His family who remain are his wife Virginia Lane "Ginny" Mills Ward and their daughter Margaret Elizabeth "Maggie Beth", his parents Larry and Terri Pace Ward of Owensboro, his parents-in-law, Mike and Elaine Jones Mills; his brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews, Kelly Ward Wiseman and her husband Chris and their daughter Pace Kari, all of Bowling Green, Kerry Sue Ward Hamilton and her husband Mike and their children Allison Christine, Kailey Sue, and Jacob Michael, all of Owensboro, Larry Michael Ward, II and his wife Robyn and their son Larry Michael "Trey", III all of Columbus, Ohio; his grandfather Harold Fabian Ward of Owensboro; his grandparents-in-law Bettye Deane Jones and Randall Mills both of Owensboro; his sisters-in-law Mollie Mills and her daughter Grace "Gracie" Katherine and Maggie Mills Thompson and her husband Travis and their son Cale Michael, all of Owensboro; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Services, officiated by The Rev. Tony Jones, The Rev. Joseph Mills and The Rev. Tony Stevenson are at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Catholic Church. Visitation at Glenn Funeral Home will be from 1:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Prayers will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
