John D. Taylor, 83, of Milcreek, PA passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at his home. Born in Philpot, a son of the Late Lonnie and Viola Chapman Taylor, he was a veteran of World War II, having served as a medic in the Battle of the Bulge. A graduate of the University of Kentucky, he was a member of its Alumni Association and a basketball fan. He was a member of Grandview Alliance Church. In 1967, he moved to Erie, PA, where he was manager of two J.C. Penny stores. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Burl Taylor, and his sisters Margaret Peter and Monaree Taylor.
Survivors include a brother, Wilson Taylor of Sioux Falls, SD, two nephews, Steve Taylor of Urbandale, IA and Greg Taylor of Marcus, IA, and his beloved cousin, Ernestine Potter of Owensboro.
A service of remembrance and committal will be at 2; 30 P.M. Tuesday in Christ Chapel Mausoleum at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
