John Anderson Smith

John Anderson Smith, 92, of Owensboro, Kentucky, died Sunday, April 19, 2009, at his residence. Mr. Smith was a member of Hall Street Baptist Church, had retired from Hon Manufacturing Company after thirty years, was a collector of antique clocks and pocket watches and an avid gardener. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Lee and Ina Anderson Smith; and his siblings, Joe Smith, Earnest Smith, Arthur Smith, Elizabeth Ijames and Dorothy Ashby.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Margaret "Tillie" Smith; son, William "Bill" Smith and his wife Tina of Owensboro; daughter Doris Britt and her husband Bodie of Lake City, SC; sister, Susie Williams of Louisville; four grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.
